The goal of this class is to create a relaxed atmosphere in which you feel comfortable communicating in Spanish while building confidence, sharpening your grammar, and increasing your vocabulary. We aim to help you speak proper Spanish, just like a local salmantino!
Program details and fees
The following terms and conditions outline program details and fees, the enrollment process, payment methods, and other important information.

Program fees depend on the program and the time of hiring. For instance, a group program of 7 nights has a price between 400 and 700 euros per student, depending on the services included and number of students and teachers. Please contact us to obtain a personalized budget for your program, with the services you wish to include.
Program fees cover the following (unless noted otherwise):
- Before arriving, students will take a brief online placement test to determine their level of Spanish.
- The Intensive Spanish Immersion Course (20 hours a week from Monday to Friday). Please note: Attendance is mandatory. If a class falls on a public holiday, the class and the day’s activities will not occur; however, students will receive credit by participating in other academic activities during the week in order to fulfill the program’s required number of hours.
- Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course. It shows their level, the number of hours they have completed, and a syllabus of the course content. The certificate can be mailed to students’ homes anywhere in the world. Please note: The final certificate will contain the grades of the Spanish university
system. If students wish for their grades to appear on the certificate according to their university’s system, please contact Tia Tula before arriving. Accommodation. Depending on the option that the group has chosen, students will stay with a host family, in a university dormitory or in a hotel.
The following details apply:- Students will have their own rooms.
- When staying with a host family or in a university dormitory, students will have full board (3 meals a day) or partial board (2 meals a day).
- With a host family, students will not be allowed to cook their own food unless they make arrangements with the family beforehand. In addition, students will have their clothes washed once a week. The host family is not responsible for delicate types of clothing or items that may stain other articles of clothing. It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of such conditions.
- In the university dormitory, there are laundry machines on site.
- No matter where students choose to live, they must sign a document that states they will follow the rules regarding the school’s accommodations. Students must abide by eating schedules and basic norms of community living, as well as specific rules established by host families.
- A meet and greet orientation with Tia Tula staff to inform students about the school, services, activities, and anything students need to know about living in Salamanca. Remember, we are always here to help!
- Use of onsite computers and WiFi.
- Round-trip transfer service to and from Madrid-Barajas airport (please, consult the conditions with the school before purchasing the plane tickets).
- We offer travel insurance to cover any incidents or medical necessities that may occur during the student’s stay.
- Extracurricular activities: Numerous daily and weekly activities that immerse students in the language and culture of Spain.
- Transferable European university credits (ECTS).
Payment will be made as agreed in advance. Otherwise, the following payment policy will be applied, at your choice:
- A single payment at the time of reservation.
- Installment payment. It can be paid in installments free of charge as follows:
- 30% of the total amount at reservation;
- 30% of the total amount, at least 2 months prior to arrival date;
- 40% remaining one month before arrival.
Groups can cancel for any reason at any time, but depending on different factors will be entitled to a refund accordingly to the type of the paid amount:
- Transport costs: it will depend on the return conditions of the transport company, in any case, it will be known before hiring the service.
- Insurance costs: non-refundable, insurance costs are low in relation to the total amount.
- Other costs: The return policies for these costs are explained below.
The following refund policy applies to travel expenses except for transport and insurance costs:
PARTIAL CANCELLATION (cancellation of any of the students) or FULL CANCELLATION (cancellation of the whole group). In any case, up to 2 months before the trip, students who cancel can be substituted for others who are in reserve without added cost, unless the airline company has a penalty for change of flight holder, in which case we will be informed prior to contracting.
PARTIAL CANCELLATION: In general, the stay may be cancelled at no additional cost, provided that it does not imply a variation in the given price of the program. Each case will be studied on an individual basis.
FULL CANCELLATION:
- The entire group may cancel by giving at least 6 months notice. In this case the group will receive 75% of the total amount (if fully paid at the time of registration), minus travel expenses, which are subject to the transportation company’s cancellation and refund policy, and insurance costs, which are non-refundable. The 25% of the amount not received by the group will be used as a deposit for a future trip for one year. After this period, if no trip is taken, the amount will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
- If the cancellation takes place between 6 months and 3 months prior to the arrival of the group, the group will receive 50% of the total amount, (if fully paid at the time of registration) minus the travel expenses which are subject to the cancellation and refund policy of the transport company and the insurance expenses which are non-refundable. 50% of the amount that the group does not receive will remain as a deposit for a future trip within one year, after that time if no trip is made the amount will be lost as a cancellation fee.
- If the cancellation takes place between three months and one month prior to the group’s arrival, the group will receive 25% of the total amount, minus transportation costs, which are subject to the airline’s cancellation and refund policy, and insurance costs, which are non-refundable. 75% of the amount that the group does not receive will remain as a deposit for a future trip within one year, after that time if no trip is made the amount will be lost as a cancellation fee.
- If the cancellation takes place less than one month before the planned date of arrival, no amount will be refunded. 75% of the amount paid, deducting transportation and insurance costs, will remain as a deposit for a future trip for a period of one year. After that time, if no trip is made, the amount will be lost as a cancellation fee.
- In cases where the trip is postponed for different reasons, it cannot be postponed again and the total amount paid will be lost, unless it is for force majeure such as closure of airspace or borders for different causes (health or other emergencies). In this case the refund of the amount paid is not contemplated.
Refund policies considering the reasons for the cancellation:
- Cancellation due to closure of borders or airspace, force majeure: In this case 75% of the total amount will be refunded (if the full amount has been paid, minus the transportation costs which are subject to the cancellation and refund policy of the transportation company and the insurance costs which are non-refundable). The remaining 25% will remain as a deposit for a future trip for a period of one year, after that time if no trip is made the amount will be forfeited as cancellation fees.
- Cancellation for other reason: Consult the cancellation refund policy of the insurance policy to check if it is subject to refund; if not, please refer to our refund policies expressed before.
